Our two fantastic months in Russia came to an end so we had to figure out how to go back home to Barcelona. We decided to travel through Budapest. The ticket was very cheap, it is one of our favorite cities on earth and we have two super cool friends there. We stayed at Anna’s, a very talented movie director who owns a fantastic property in XII District, deep inside Buda’s hills. The neighborhood is superb, a festival of trees and flowers, full of mansions and prime views of the city.
We spent our mornings relaxing in Anna’s beautiful garden, walking about her green neighborhood and overeating cakes in a fancy local pastry shop. Then we would come down to the city to keep walking and eating cakes. We watched the sunset fall over the city from Gellért Hill and dipped inside the magnificent pools of both Turkish and Austro-Hungarian style spas. We explored trendy Újlipótváros and the new Palace of Arts. We even had drinks in a non touristic ruin pub (mission accomplished) with our other cool friend, Noémi. She is a great architect that has an adorable little daughter. Budapest, it was such a pleasure seeing you again!
