We were visiting Marrakech when we decided to go to Essaoira, the closest amongst the several fortified towns that line Morocco‘s coast. For some unknown reason people here seemed different. Almost no one tries to sell you things and people that do, never insist. It was easy to interact with locals and we even met a nice Berber guy who wanted to marry my two friends. We had so much fun just walking about the Old Town, watching boats in the Old Harbor and dipping our feet into the ocean. On second thought, perhaps it’s the fresh summer breeze that gives locals their mild temper. The three of us unanimously decided that Essaouira is the best place to visit in Morocco.
