Day 15

Yes, you won’t believe it, that’s how intense it was, you are back home .

Bangkok is a fairly big city, and traffic jams are quite common so it’s important to be well connected and close to the action. The center itself is quite overcrowded and noisy so the best option is a neighborhood not far from the center. Silom is a nice, authentic neighborhood, close to the river and the Skytrain, with shops and restaurants in every corner.

Railay beach

Railay’s main beach, Railay West is just a few minutes away from the hotel

The hotel is in the old town, the most authentic part of Yangon and where everything happens. Even Shwedagon Pagoda is within walking distance.

The hotel is located in the middle of nature, between Nyang U and New Bagan.

The hotel is located in the city center not far from the central train station.

Very nice photos of my homeland. Yangon is my hometown so I know all these places. I have also been to Mandalay several times, but only once to Bagan way back in 1966. I was on a Naval gunboat on the Ayeyarwaddy River, going from Yangon to Mandalay and we stopped at Bagan for one day. At that time, I didn’t see a single tourist. Nowadays, I believe it is really crowded with travelers from all over the world!
I also lived/worked in Bangkok for 12 years, so am very familiar with the city.

Myanmar is my favorite country. People are genuinely nice, the architecture and landscapes are gorgeous. Plus it is still very authentic! Definitely going back there in a couple of years!
